Happy Easter, all you bunnies!

It was a chilly but lovely day at the Martinez household where most of my large extended family gathered to celebrate Easter and all God's blessings. Significantly, Patrick and his daughter, Ciara, accompanied me to my parents' house. For some of my uncles, aunts and cousins this was the first time they have met Patrick and I can tell you it was not without significant pride and pleasure to have him there with me. As expected, my loud, large latino family extended all the warmth and teasing that they would on each other as Ciara played with the grandkids having already bonded several times in past months and Patrick was obliged to a game of "horse" on the basketball court with the men (Cousin Matt and Dr. Joe sizzled but Gabe was the winner!) It was also cousin Leslie and Conan's son, "Baby Blake's" first easter that he could partake in since he now walks, smiles at everyone and sought out easter eggs during the hunt. Laughter, playing with my Uncle Alex' beautiful huge puppy-dog, Rommel, and one mega candy and egg hunt later: we collapsed stuffed with delicious meals and desserts. Much love and blessings to all my family, especially those who were unable to attend - we, of course, included you in our long Nana Margie prayer, complete with singing. Click on slideshow below!

The party was sooooo much fun and loved watching the 'wee' ones looking for eggs and capturing them wherever they found them. Olivia filling her basket to overflowing and being VERY territorial about them (I picked her up and she caught one on a high branch) and of course, "The Blakester" (his first) bouncing his basket on the ground and they all fell out (of course the cousins were there to pick up the jelly bellys off the ground as was Granny Gini eating the bubble gum (sorry Lisa).

Every time I attend one of the Araiza/Martinez Soirees', I think they can't get any better but they always seem to be better than the last time......Margie & Armando, a HUGE thank you for hosting this year and the meat and all the 'sides' were delish (except of course, all the "FETA"). Youse guys have a Feta Fetish, for sure!!

All in all, a wonderful day and everyone looked amazingly beautiful, as usual!! Now, onward to August and Stearn's Grove for the "GREEN" wedding of the year!! TEE HEE!!!!
Really looking forward to being there and sharing in year another great event!!

Love to All!

Margie & Armando, fabulous party! Great food, great fun and of course, the greatest of Family! If for no other reasons, of which we have so many, we are all so blessed to have each other.

Yes, even if the sun was a no-show, it was fabulous to see everybody and to share in the laughter and good food. And if you weren't there, not only did you miss out on the superb company, but you also missed out on Nick's scrumptious appetizer. Extra credit goes to him and Matt (for the beautifully decorated cupcakes) because they are Araiza males who can actually cook-----Bravo!!!
