Latina Style: VASZARO designs

About 3 years ago I met and modeled for local Latina designer Vanessa Rosas. You can see previous blog here about that first show. Since then I've modeled again for her as well as bought a one-of-a-kind black gown that I adore and has accompanied me to Vegas and Miami. I was checking out her website and, enjoying always seeing those I know work, I'd like to support her by posting it here for those wanting to check out some of her fantastic, super sexy and flowing designs.

Elsamart Stock is Rising!!

If you don't know me or haven't read my moniker in the banner at the top of my blog -one of my many jobs and talents is modeling. I will get into it more in detail (including tips and EVERYTHING you need to know how to get into the Industry and not get scammed). But that is a whole other blog...

In any case, my resume is up on Monster.com - just for the hell of it - hehehe. And I once in a while actually click on the weekly emails sent to me 'matching my profile'. Eating some lunch right now, I clicked on it and clicked on a particular pharmaceutical sales job (cus I'm cute when I clean up and ya'll know E's got the 'gift to gab')...

Well - shoot - there is my smiling noggin at the top of the page from a Stock photo shoot I did a couple years back. Let me tell you - my stock images just pop up everywhere and when I least expect it. I may be an old broad, but I still got it!!

PS - and what a great ice-breaker if I actually interview for the job, telling them, "And your company already is using my image as an 'employee' - so obviously I am JUST what you are looking for and you might as well give me the job...." WORK...IT...OUT!!!

Fabulous, Dahling!

I noted a couple posts ago how tired I've been lately. I've been fortunate to work some weekends modeling in runway shows and it's keeping me busy along with the regular school job.

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of wearing some fabulous clothes in a Charity luncheon/fashion show for the Ronald McDonald Kids' House Foundation. The show was produced and put on by femme fatal, Leonard Simpson - who looks younger and thinner I see her every time - the beotch! In all seriousness, Simpson puts on the best runway shows I've ever done in all my years of modeling - with props, dogs, amazing clothes, flowers, lights, accessories crafted by himself... his shows are stressful, quick and light years more polished than most. I remember how stressed and intimidated I used to be by him and the experienced girls from Los Angeles in my first show with him years ago in Pasadena, Los Angeles. It sure feels good that he now requests me all the time and told the 3 new teens to watch me and have me help them out.

The show was deemed a huge success and then it was on to the next...

Springtime - Bridalshowtime

One of my jobs is modeling. And I encourage anyone who wants to get in the business or learn about it to read my blogs on modeling because I am always leaving helpful and interest hints. Knowledge is power!

Tis the season - I do a lot of bridal show modeling during the spring. This evidently is a huge, lucrative business - the whole wedding scene. Shoot, I used to sing for free at weddings, and now I know that my being a professionally classically educated and trained singer I could've been charging a $100 an hour for my God-given talents!!??

Well, now I make sure I do get paid by exhibiting one of my other God-given talents -that of knowing how to "work" long, flowy dresses - and if you think I am being cute - I can assure you, that not EVERY model knows how to work (or present) dresses.

Alas, I am referring to bridal shows. A totally different style of runway modeling. No, not just because we do get to smile and make eye contact with the audience (unlike high fashion modeling where we look either like non-smiling zombies or sexy "fierce" with high-powered walks). It is definitely a much more presentational and warm, pleasant modeling since the point is that we are not trying to alienate our audience but trying to encourage them that they, too, can wear these dresses! :)

So sweet, so fun, even though one will never, EVER see me wearing a wedding dress should I ever be so inclined to get hitched. he he he. They are just a little too princessy and wedding-cakey for me. I much prefer a vibrant-colored sundress of some sort to get married in. Perfect for the gypsy in me!

Booty-licious gets coveted Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover!

Congrats to singer Beyonce who can lick her wounds a bit since her co-star, Jennifer Hudson, is winning all the awards for their movie musical, "Dreamgirls". The booty-licious performer graces the cover of this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. She is a very pretty girl, no doubt about it, and they pose her to show off her ass-etts real well. But as Miss Tyra Banks - retired Supermodel/Talkshow host/ex cover model several times for the SI issue - would point out, "She has no neck in this photograph..." Hear that, Gurrll, you better work! http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=251607>1=7702
